Tips for writing articles here
- Document things as of the latest public chapter. If you're a Patreon subscriber, please contain your enthusiasm until everyone can read the text.
- Articles about people are titled with first name only. The first name alone is usually (always?) enough to distinguish characters.
- Link people and things the first time you mention them. If you're working in the source editor, you can link to another page by surrounding its title in two pairs of square brackets:
[[Bethany]] - When describing something, cite the chapter it came from. In the source editor, a citation to chapter 22 would be written like this:
Bethany is 5'6".{{ch|22}} - If you know there's more you should write but you can't right now, mark the section as incomplete. In the source editor, write
{{Incomplete section}} - Don't make things up or fill gaps with headcanon. The canon leaves many things unstated; leave these gaps unfilled so that other readers can come to their own conclusions.
- Use peoples' current names and pronouns, even when describing past events. Old names and identity information should be documented for the sake of readers seeing those names in the story, but standardize on the person's current identity information.
- Where possible, write as though the story is real. Imagine yourself as a bored sponsor updating Dorley's internal files during an overnight shift in the security room, except that you know everything that happens in the story and aren't worried about leaking secrets. Only step out of this point of view and write as though Dorley is a work of fiction if there is no other way to describe the subject.
- Use Form:Programme subject when you create a page for an intake, Dorley girl, or washout. They will create a page with the standard info box. We'll try to build out similar formats for other kinds of documents in time.
- Have fun!
