Pamela, also known as Pam, Pammy or Ella, is a graduate of the Dorley programme. She is currently sponsoring Martin, who was taken into the programme for killing the husband of Pamella's best friend in a drunk driving incident. While she initially displayed considerable hostility towards her charge, the two later came to be quite fond of one another.
She doesn't like the nickname "Pammy."[ch. 34].
