Francesca (also known as Fran) is Dorley girl who sponsored Paige in the 2017 intake.
Relationship with Paige
Her relationship with Paige was rather adversarial, though this seems to have been "by design" on Francesca’s part. [SD 34] When she remained hostile to Paige throughout her second year, Paige petitioned Aunt Bea directly to have her removed from duty. Paige has not had an official sponsor in the months since. Christine notes that following her time under Francesca, Paige still flinches when someone shouts. [SD 10]
Paige admits that "as awful as she was, Francesca prepared me for life out here. Practically rubbed my face in it." [SD 12]
While Francesca states that she pushed Paige in the ways she "thought she needed pushing", she admits to Melissa and Shahida that the two "don't get on" and, following the conclusion of her sponsoring duties at the beginning of 2019, she avoids hanging around the Hall so as to spare Paige her presence, even though she misses her. She briefly returns to the Hall to see if she is needed during a staff shortage on December 30th. [SD 34]
Paige and Francesca have a meeting scheduled for sometime in early March 2020 to discuss Paige's graduation from the programme. [SD 41]
