Rabia (sometimes called Rab) is a Dorley graduate, formerly sponsored by Trish. [SD 23] As of 2019, she serves as the Hall's house nurse. She is likely dating Bella. [SD 16][SD 28]
Bella and Rabia's relationship appears to have been put on hold when Rabia left the Hall, but when Rabia returned as the replacement nurse in the Fall of 2019, the two picked up where they left off. [SD 23] By December, Shahida believes they are "probably dating". [SD 28]
In the programme
Rabia recalls that she didn't like who she was before the Hall, even before she had it all "thrown in [her] face" by Trish. [SD 23]
Her first trip out of the Hall as a second year was sometime around April. She recalls it was the nicest day of the year so far and that Trish took her to Café One for omelettes. [SD 23]
Since graduating, Rabia has remained on good terms with Trish and the two talk often. [SD 23]
Return to the Hall
Rabia tells Christine that prior to her return, she was living "the normal life" and was uninvolved with Hall activities. [SD 23]
Following Barb's retirement in 2019, the Hall was left in the lurch for a replacement nurse. Due to an administrative oversight, [SD 37] Karen was hired on to fill the position sometime prior to October 26th, 2019 with an assurance of good behavior; she then immediately proceeded to sexually assault each member of the intake during the first medical examination in the basement. [SD 11] This abuse of power led to Karen's immediate dismissal by Aunt Bea (and, soon after, her death at the hands of the Peckinville PMC under Elle Lambert's orders). [SD 14] [SD 21] [SD 36]
In the aftermath of Karen's dismissal, Maria mentions to a group of sponsors and third years that a graduate of the Hall works as a nurse and may be willing to transfer to a nearby hospital. [SD 12] When Maria is attacked by Leigh on November 25th, Edy informs Christine that Rabia has recently arrived and will be her point of contact at the hospital; Rabia liases with Christine at the hospital and helps oversee Maria's stay and monitor her status for the Hall. [SD 17]
Further adventures
Rabia and Bella are present in the kitchen on December 11th when Lorna and Vicky discover Shahida putting up missing persons posters for Mark Vogel, Melissa's old identity. [SD 22] Bella, "borderline panicking", makes the call to send Faye and Rebecca across campus to retrieve Christine from a meeting with her professor; in doing so, she sends the two second years outside the Hall for the first time, far ahead of schedule. Returning to the Hall, Christine berates Bella for the decision; Rabia intervenes and calms her down, explaining that they were short-staffed and needed Christine to get in touch with Abby, who could then get in touch with Melissa. Rabia agrees to relay an apology from Christine. [SD 23]
Rabia is at work on December 12th when Melissa returns to the Hall to liberate Steph. She ignores the emergency notification and turns off her phone. [SD 25]
Following Nell's demotion and subsequent attitude adjustment, Rabia and Bella take her out for a "sort of a get-to-know-you-again" day out around December 16th. [SD 27] A few days later on December 24th, Rabia arranges a meeting between herself, Nell, Melissa, Autumn, Tash, and Bella, seemingly intending to mend the relationships within the group. [SD 31] The full group meets up towards the end of the Christmas Eve party and departs on good terms. [SD 32]
Rabia assists Dr. Rahman with caring for Trevor in the medial portakabin on January 11th, following the Stenordale escapees' return on the 5th. [SD 39]
Notes on biographical information
Unknown intake - Though she's very close with Bella and seems invested in the members of the 2012 intake, Rabia does not seem to be directly affiliated with that intake herself -- Melissa does not recognize her name on her caller ID. [SD 23]
