Shahida Mohsin-Carpenter is a pre-transition associate of Melissa's.
Shahida was born on 25 March 1994.[LL] She spent her pre-teen life in Essex with her mother and father. After her father's death, she and her mother moved to Almsworth, where she met Melissa at the Peri Park holiday resort.[ch. 22] The two quickly developed a close friendship, and Shahida was responsible for introducing Melissa to Amy and Rachel as well. Their friendship was ruptured when Melissa had an adverse emotional response while kissing Shahida after a party.

Shahida plays the flute. She has been an avid swimmer since childhood[ch. 22], and still swims as often as she is able to find an open pool.
