Trish was a Dorley girl who survived Grandmother’s programme. She presumably sponsored a boy in the 2005 intake and, later, sponsored Rabia before retiring from her duties at the Hall. She currently has a career in real estate. [SD 23]
In the programme
Like most others in Grandmother's Dorley, Trish came from a disadvantaged background and was picked up for a minor offense. Trish recalls that, unlike the other captives, she had a history of violent behavior:
"I was a big man,” Trish says, injecting so much venom into the words that she spits. “A big man in a little boy’s body. And I was running on automatic. I hurt people because that was what you did. And that nightmare woman Dorothy — fucking ‘Grandmother’ — may have mutilated me but I fucking— I—”
Natalie shushes her. “It’s okay. You don’t have to.”
Trish nods. Covers Natalie’s hand with her own. Looks back at Teri. “I’m better now. I’m different. I didn’t want this. But now that I have it? I’m never going back.” [SD 31]
Trish and Natalie seem to have been a bonded pair in the basement. [SD 31]
As a sponsor
On December 24, 2004, after being liberated in Elle and Beatrice's takeover of the Hall, Trish was present at the first planning meeting for what would become the modern Dorley programme, where she vouched for the programme's effectiveness. When Natalie balked at the proposal to restart the programme under Beatrice's direction, Trish stayed behind to sign on as a sponsor, promising to visit Natalie every week to spare her having to visit the Hall. Rabia
In her second year, Trish took Rabia on her first trip out of the Hall to Café One for omelettes. [SD 23]
Since graduating, Rabia has remained on good terms with Trish and the two talk often. When asked if Trish would consider returning as a sponsor, Rabia has laughingly responded "Fuck, no!" [SD 23]
