Abigail is a Dorley girl who sponsored Melissa[ch. 6] and is now dating her and Shahida[ch. 40]. She is friends with Christine and helped Stephanie during the early weeks of ther intake.
Abby is 162 cm (5'4") tall[LL] and describes her pre-transition misdeeds as "short guy syndrome".[ch. 5] She is Black and comes from a loving family, who she has recontacted without authorization.[ch. 19] It is implied that Aunt Bea involved herself personally in her participation in the programme[ch. 12].
Abby's full name at graduation was Abigail Meyer. After reuniting with her parents, she changes her surname back to Grant.[ch. 31]
