Diana (sometimes called Di) is a washout from the 2019 intake, originally sponsored by Monica. Intended for Elle Lambert's washout program, she was abducted and brought to Stenordale Manor where she was force-feminized.

Diana is around 190cm / 6'3" tall with a large frame; [SD 37] Bethany observes that she has long legs. [SD 8] Having only recently started voice training, she tends to speak softly in a voice that is "deep and a little scratchy". [SD 40]

She has a small horizontal scar on her left cheek. [SD 40] Following her surgical feminization under Dorothy, Diana has large breasts and an upturned, "retroussé " nose, [SD 37] with full lips and a sharp jawline. [SD 40] Valérie considers Dorothy's modifications to Diana's body to have been more "crass" than those she made to early Dorley girls. [SD 27] Raph thinks she looks like Wonder Woman ("from the cartoons"). [SD 41]

Diana enjoys Weetabix with brown sugar and hot milk. She is afraid of needles. [SD 40]

Following Diana's return to the fold, her New Personal History establishes her as Monica's younger sister; Monica is intensely attached to her and is heavily invested in her well-being. She affectionately calls Diana "Lady Di". [SD 41] Diana is is currently working at Chiamaka's B&B in Cherston-on-Sea in exchange for room and board.

Pre-transition

Diana's father was the template for the young man she had become prior to being picked up by Dorley Hall. Despite her mother's positive influence and disapproval, [SD 36] Diana eventually learned to emulate her father's cruelty, misogyny, and general indifference; cruelties she would then pass on to those "smaller, slower, more kind" than herself. [SD 40]

As the youngest and smallest of her siblings, Diana overcompensated with "a childish tendency to push and push and never stop, to always be rattling someone’s nerves, to always be asserting his wants, his needs, his physical superiority." [SD 40]

Diana seems to have peaked while in school; she recalls that she was "tall and built and kind of good-looking" and that, as Declan, was most proud "in the form room at school" and that "he knew what he liked, he knew what he wanted, and he fucking made sure he got it". [SD 36]

While still in school, Diana was in a relationship with a girl named Tracy, with whom she fell into a pattern of rape and domestic abuse. Diana recalls that "he made himself stupid", preferring to use his willful ignorance as a means of controlling others. Eventually she left school and started working "shit" jobs, continuing to have an on again, off again relationship with Tracy. [SD 36] Steph describes Diana as a "manipulator" who "made himself into a trap some poor woman kept willingly walking back into". [SD 20]

Looking back on her life as Declan, Diana later admits that "he was stupid" and that "he was in many ways a fucking coward", including his fear of applying himself to learning. [SD 36]

Shortly after intake, Steph observes that Diana was "built like a guy who drinks beer every night but gets a lot of exercise. Literally barrel-shaped." [SD 9]

At Dorley Hall

Diana is twenty-two years of age when she is abducted by Dorley; [LL] like Adam and Ollie, she was not a student at Saints at the time. [SD 38] In the basement, she displays a quirk of separating other people's names into their component syllables, and privately prefers the feel and sound of some names and their sounds over others.

Before Steph arrives in the basement, Diana had already attempted to dig the Goserelin implant out of her abdomen with a spoon, resulting in the basementees losing metal cutlery privileges. She also grabbed one of the sponsors and was immediately "dogpiled" and beaten. [SD 5] After a certain point, Diana can no longer be persuaded to shower. Diana throws a plastic plate at Adam's head, bruising him "quite badly". Following this, Adam, Leigh, Steph, and Beth strike a defensive alliance to protect themselves against Diana, Ollie, and Raph. [SD 9]

On October 25th, Diana surprises Steph and Beth in the shower annexe and punches Beth in the head, knocking her to the floor. Suspecting that Steph is somehow collaborating with the sponsors, she intends to subdue Steph and take her as a hostage to negotiate her way out of the basement. After Steph attempts to stall for time, Beth tackles Diana from the side, knocking her off balance as Monica and Maria arrive. Steph and Beth are allowed to escape the showers as Monica confronts Diana with a baton. [SD 9]

The next day, Diana is escorted, nude, to the cells, covered in bruises. Pippa informs Steph that the incident had been Diana's third strike: "Carrot removed, stick emplaced.” [SD 11]

Declan is reintroduced to the basement on November 9th; Monica complains that she has learned "nothing" from her time in the cell. As tensions in the common area spike, Steph listens in on Diana, Ollie, and Raph boasting and joking with each other about past exploits and overhears Diana describing, laughingly, a time she raped a former girlfriend (Tracy). Incensed, Steph impulsively vaults over the couch and punches her in the face, knocking her to the floor. [SD 13] Before the situation can escalate, Diana is immediately tased and returned to a cell. [SD 14] Later that day, she is visited by Aunt Bea, who informs her that she is washing out of the programme. [SD 15] Bea explains to Steph that, by revealing herself as an unrepentant and persistent rapist, Diana has "damned" herself by her own testimony. [SD 14]

Originally meant to be picked up by Peckinville two days later, due an unknown delay she is not transferred until the night of the 13th. [SD 16] Unbeknownst to anyone at Dorley or Peckinville, the team responsible for the transfer has been infiltrated by a Silver River Solutions operative named Jake. Diana is led, sedated, onto the van and shackled and gagged. Before they can depart for the Peckinville facility, the other member of the team, Trevor, is incapacitated and Jake takes control of the van. [SD 29]

At Stenordale

Confinement

On December 14th, Diana is delivered, starved, castrated, and surgically feminized, to Dorothy Marsden's Stenordale Manor and given to Valérie for training. [SD 26] The sudden, traumatic transformation and new, cruel environment leaves her in a nearly catatonic state. At Dorothy's command, Diana is dressed solely in revealing, humiliating outfits, including maid uniforms, a catholic school girl uniform, [SD 28] and a pink pinafore. [SD 29] Diana remains in a dissociative state for days, only having glimmers of lucidity from time to time, and quickly shutting down again when seeing her breasts or glimpsing her reflection; incapable of dressing or feeding herself, Diana continues to waste away. [SD 28]

Callum reveals Diana's background as a serial rapist to Valérie early on; the disclosure rattles Val and negatively colors her perception of Diana thereafter, leaving her indifferent towards her plight. [SD 27] When Dorothy puts Diana through a particularly dehumanizing ritual at dinner one night, Frankie is compelled to intervene, warning that Diana may become permanently non-functional. [SD 28]

Meanwhile, Trevor has also been forcibly feminized and is earmarked for the Smyth-Farrow siblings; with the rest of the manor preoccupied with Trevor's progress, Diana is given to Jake, who stayed on to serve as a guard, to oversee just as she is beginning to become lucid and verbal again. Jake's sadist impulses begin to awaken as he realizes he is aroused at the opportunity to participate in her feminization and subjugation. [SD 30] Jake starts calling her "Dina" and she is forced to play along [SD 32] and endure even more extreme debasements and physical and sexual abuse. [SD 36] Jake's enthusiastic and brutal training quickly begins to mirror the worst of Karen's cruelties under Dorothy's original regime (Frankie later states she believes Stenordale was, in some ways, "worse" than Grandmother's Dorley) [SD 37] and Diana is kept at his beck and call in a state of near-constant terror and humiliation. Diana soon begins to dissociate again, [SD 33] and, losing hope, eventually begins to sink into her role as "Dina" as her psyche begins to fracture; [SD 35] eventually Frankie believes "Declan was Dina more than she was anything else" [SD 38] until "by the end, there wasn’t any Declan left". [SD 39]

Escape

The night of January 4th, following Valérie, Frankie, and Trevor's escape, an inebriated and badly wounded Jake enters Diana's room. Learning of the others' escape and realizing she has been left alone with Jake and Dorothy, Diana kills Jake in a fit of desperation as he attempts to kiss her, gouging out his eyes [SD 35] and stabbing him in the stomach. [SD 36]

A dazed, knife-wielding Diana is confronted by Dorothy while standing over the wreckage of Jake's body and mindlessly licking the blood off her fingers. Dorothy briefly holds her at gunpoint before leaving to burn down the mansion, assuming Diana will either die in the blaze or be found by the authorities and compromise Dorley Hall in an attempt to avoid legal prosecution as a rapist and murderer. At the back of her mind, Diana faintly considers attacking her but can't convince herself to -- there is no point in escaping as Declan Shaw, who will be "thrown away" when discovered, and who will "deserve it". [SD 36]

As the manor burns, Diana is discovered by an auxiliary first responder named Noor, who has to drag her out of the burning building. When Noor asks her name, she realizes she has the opportunity to leave her old life as Declan behind. Not wanting to go by Dina, she claims the name Diana for herself. Diana is questioned by Noor and a firefighter named Judy; clocked as a trans woman and discovered next to Jake's body, she admits to the both of them that she murdered Jake in self-defense, confiding that he had raped her multiple times. Sympathetic to her plight and convinced that she did not set the fire and was uninvolved with the firefight downstairs, the two women urge her to leave the scene before more authorities arrive, promising her they won't record her presence in their reports. Diana is given a change of clothes, a bag of supplies, and some money and flees the scene. [SD 36]

Diana runs into the woods and hikes through the forest to a nearby road where she is eventually picked up by a kindly elderly couple who are able to take her as far as Cherston-on-Sea. Throughout the journey away from Stenordale, Diana's new personality begins to assert itself over the remains of Declan's psyche, powered by her own revulsion for her past self and his behavior, and she finds herself unable and unwilling to fully focus on her old, now jumbled, memories as Declan. Sleeping in the car, she dreams, reliving her last encounter with Jake, where she continually swaps places with Tracy, Jake, and Declan, killing each other. She resolves to make a fresh start in Cherston. [SD 36]

At Cherston-on-Sea

Arriving in Cherston-on-Sea early the next morning, Diana makes her way down the promenade to a bed and breakfast advertising vacancies. The proprietor, Chiamaka, recognizing her to be a battered trans woman, offers her room and board in a room in the attic as payment for taking on a job helping out around the establishment. [SD 36]

As Diana settles in to her new life, she begins to purposefully create a new personality in total opposition to everything Declan once stood for. Along with adopting a cheery, girlish demeanor, she begins fostering her sense of curiosity, eagerly and fearlessly applying herself to studying any source of information she can. [SD 38] While attempting to keep a diary, she gradually begins writing poetry, giving a creative outlet to her feelings and her natural affinity for words and their component sounds and rhythms. [SD 39]

Return to Dorley Hall

By January 11th, Diana has been noticing menopausal symptoms, including dizzy spells, having gone without estrogen injections since escaping Stenordale. Despite her anxiety, she uses the Saints and Dorley Hall student registries to find Monica's phone number and call her for help. [SD 38] Frightened at the thought of returning to the Hall, Diana cautiously agrees to meet Monica at a John Lewis café in Chelmsford. At the café, Monica (with Frankie in tow) attempts to persuade her to return to the Hall and offers her resources including an NPH, clothing, a stipend, and voice training. Ultimately, she cannot convince Diana to stay at Dorley, but gets her to agree to return for a visit. [SD 39]

Later that day at the Hall, Diana is rattled when confronted by her own lingering violent impulses, triggered by returning to the building. Inside, the three are welcomed by Jane, who assures Diana that she is no longer afraid of her; back in the outer hallway, Monica reassures her that Diana's own fear of herself is proof enough that she has no reason to fear her, either.

The next morning, Steph encounters Diana in the second floor kitchen; shocked and unprepared for her sudden appearance, Steph runs away in a panic. Shaken, Diana is consoled by Frankie, who confides in her about her own past and guilty feelings, advising her to let Steph confront her and allow her to find closure on her own terms so they can both move on. [SD 40] Frankie and Monica let her blow off some steam trying on clothes in a storage room (an experience she thrills in), and then Monica administers an estrogen injection and instructs her on how to take her progesterone. Afterward, Diana is taken to see Aunt Bea and Valérie, who both attempt to apologize; Diana rebuffs them, refusing to let them absolve Declan -- she would prefer to keep her guilt and self-loathing so that she can focus it into improving herself and helping others. [SD 40] Diana and Bea discuss Diana one day returning to the Hall to become a sponsor. [SD 41]

Diana convinces Aunt Bea to arrange a meeting between her and Steph. The two meet in the dining hall (with Bethany tagging along) and apologize to each other; Diana shows Steph how to properly throw a punch. The two promise to keep in touch. [SD 40] Diana then goes to the basement to meet Leigh in the makeshift gym. The two have a conversation about the true meaning of weakness and stupidity; Leigh shares her new name and reveals that she is not attracted to women. [SD 40]

That night, Monica uses the Hall's resources to provide her with a bank account, emergency contact info for the Hall, and voice training resources, and works with her to establish an NPH so the Hall can create a passport and birth certificate. Diana picks the last name Rosamond and an NPH establishing her as Monica's younger sister. [SD 41]

Before returning home on the 13th, Diana has a cup of coffee with Steph to say goodbye and reveals that she's thinking of coming back on the weekends to "touch base". Diana then meets with Raph, partially to catch up but also to confront her memories of Declan in the basement. Meeting Diana has a catalyzing effect on Raph, who begins to see transition as a "viable option". [SD 41]
