Mia is a second year girl sponsored by Nadine in the 2018 intake.
Mia is Welsh [LL] and has pale skin (Valérie describes her as "chalk white"). [SD 37]
She has dental braces [SD 34] and generally dresses like a stereotypically "extremely online" trans girl, usually wearing oversized cat-ear hoodies [SD 33] and "programmer socks", which Aunt Bea disapproves of. [SD 30] She also sleeps in a onesie with ears [SD 40] and at least occasionally draws whiskers on her face with eyeliner. [SD 37]
She is in a relationship with Aisha, and both are frequently intimate with the other girls in their intake.
Mia is outspoken with an "excitable" personality, [SD 37] and, to the sponsors' chagrin, does not seem to have any hangups about talking about her penis, which she frequently describes as a "huge hog". [SD 34] She has a tendency to speak quickly and in a high pitch when excited. [SD 32] Aisha seems to be able to reign her in when necessary. [SD 40]
Relationship with Nadine
Mia and Nadine are an "oppositional" sponsor / subject pairing by design and have an "extreme personality clash". [SD 41] Shahida notes that Nadine seems to be "permanently exasperated" with Mia. [SD 28] Nadine swears she will turn Mia into a "proper lady" if it's the last thing she does, "and it might well be". [SD 30] Despite the clashing personalities, their Sisterly bond is strong and Mia is deeply affectionate towards Nadine. [SD 32]
Pre-Transition
Mia states that her behavior pre-transition got her "bloody knuckles and a criminal record" and alludes that she was "too dangerous to leave running around as a boy". [SD 32]

First Year
At intake
Mia arrived in the basement with, by her own description, "pretty fucked-up teeth". She was fitted for braces at some point later. [SD 34]
Orchiectomy
Mia's orchiectomy was delayed due to illness. She spent a week in the interim, watching the rest of her intake "fall apart" following their procedures and, cracking under the pressure, asked Nadine to help her kill herself. Nadine refused and comforted her, promising she would not be ready to be rid of Mia until she was a "happy and winsome young lady". The experience is a foundational one in Mia and Nadine's relationship; Nadine's belief in Mia's potential was crucial in helping Mia decide to leap into the programme "with both feet". [SD 32]
Second Year
As a second year, Mia spends much of her time in a group with the rest of her intake learning to prepare meals, exercising, and presenting themselves for regular inspections, as well as other duties such as cleaning up after parties [SD 32] and generally acting as gofers for more senior girls and staff. They occasionally have sleepovers together as a group. [SD 26]
Mia is present in the dining hall when Melissa returns to the Hall and attempts to abduct Steph and, along with the other second years, follows Christine to the conservatory to observe the standoff. [SD 25]
Rachel overhears Mia ranting about a baked potato and making kidnapping jokes at dinner, inadvertently breaking opsec weeks before Rachel has been read in. Melissa and Shahida manage to play it off as an inside joke. [SD 28]
On Christmas Day, Mia counsels Beth with her "fake it till you make it" approach to transition. [SD 32] Steph assesses that Mia's personality is over-the-top by design, so that she can gradually find her limits and smooth off her "spikier edges" as she goes. [SD 41]
Mia, along with the other second years, is present when Valérie returns to Dorley Hall and is reunited with Aunt Bea. [SD 37]
Mia has been pitching mug ideas, her latest being "Noblesse Oblige: With Great Fortune Comes the Responsibility to Give Up Your Nob". [SD 43]

Notes on biographical information
- First appearance: Mia's first appearance is in Chapter 23 but she is first mentioned by name in Chapter 20. She had been pestering Maria to let her stream a video game online but is denied the privilege until she stops making jokes about her "huge hog" around the Hall.
