Re: Template:POV
I found some extremely detailed discussion of how MediaWiki handles whitespace here: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Newlines_and_spaces
It seems that whitespace before a template substition is always removed. However, there are a few tricks you can use to preserve whitespace inside the template, and one of them worked nicely: putting a space in a <nowiki> tag. Judging from Chapter 43, I think it's working fine!
